In a year where not so long ago we would consider the season to be voided, the Deploy Premier League season came to a close with only one point separating the top two teams in the top flight of Blacktown Mens Football. Marayong FC took out the 2020 Deploy Premier League Club Championship but only by a one point over rivals The Ponds FC.
Coming into the final round of competition both clubs knew they needed to perform to their best and they certainly did not fail. Both grades of Marayong FC and The Ponds FC won comfortably. With only goal difference separating the First Grade competition, where The Ponds FC actually took the Minor Premiership, it was only a matter of one draw over a loss in previous results in the Reserve Grade competition that separated the two high flying clubs in the end.
Marayong FC President Chris Bassili was elated with the results on the field.
While the race to the top of the top tier went down to the final round, the Deploy Premier League 2 Club Championship was wrapped up two weeks prior with Town Rangers FC taking the honours and promotion into the top flight in 2021.
The Deploy Premier League now moves into its Finals Series with eleven different clubs represented over the different grades. Players and coaching staff should all be commended for the level of football that has been showcased through a season that most thought would be forgotten, but thanks to the strength of Blacktown Football and the people behind it, has glowed to be one of the best on show thus far.
The Deploy Premier League Club Championship points is calculated by adding the First Grade table points times by three and the Reserve Grade table points times by one. To check out the final Club Championship standings in the Deploy Premier League click here.
